- Studies show that if you are going to do a big pattern interupt like cold turkey, it can be good to set a time in the future to start. That gives you brain time to prepare.
- On the day of the start, do something different on that day – break a lot of patterns at once.
- Plan for self care – do things to sooth yourself
- Get an accountability partner if you can that can hold you high throughout the process.
- Print out a daily tracker log – you can find some cool ones on Etsy, to track your progress.
- Set a duration – try 30 to 60 to 90 days to start.
- Plan some rewards at certain points.
- What ever you do, never break the cold turkey for the time you have allocated. This will build the whole structure.
